Weekend racing an absolute classic - Sport - The Timaru Herald:
"Boys (and girls) and their toys were on display at the Timaru International Motor Raceway over the weekend.
The Classic and Historic Race Meeting was held on Saturday and yesterday and saw a large number of classic cars arrive in Timaru.
The philosophy behind the meeting was 'an opportunity for vehicles from a past era to be used in friendly rivalry to allow them to be exercised in a manner that the manufacturer intended'.
According to spokesperson Selwyn Jackson, 194 competitors entered the weekend's event, which was a huge success. "
